Why landlords are leaving TenantCloud.

Three patterns we hear from landlords looking to switch.

The application flow is broken.

TenantCloud's Trustpilot is currently 3.0 / 5 across 134 reviews — and the profile is unclaimed. The most cited problem in recent reviews: tenants can't complete applications because the document upload UX is unreliable. Your tenants give up.

Their assistant is locked behind a paywall.

TenantCloud's “Cloudia” only writes listing descriptions, and you can only use it on the Pro plan at $50/mo. Landlord Command includes a full Virtual Assistant — Elsie — at every tier, starting at $29/mo.

It's sized for everyone — not landlords.

TenantCloud targets DIY landlords, property managers, tenants, and service pros — all in one product. We built Landlord Command for one user: independent landlords with 5–75 single-family homes. Sharp focus, not a Swiss Army knife.

Less money. More included.

Side-by-side at the tier you'd actually pick.

TenantCloud Pro

$50/mo

What you pay to unlock their assistant.

  • • Their assistant only writes listing descriptions
  • • Tenants charged to pay (payer-pays fees by default)
  • • 1099s are print-and-mail only — no e-file
  • • 1 GB storage at lower tiers
  • • 10-lease cap on the Starter tier
  • • 1 bank account / 1 legal entity at Starter
  • • Phone support locked to Growth+ ($29.17)
Save $21/mo

Landlord Command Solo

$29/mo

Elsie included from day one.

  • Full Elsie Virtual Assistant — not just listing copy
  • Up to 15 properties (vs. TC's tighter caps)
  • Online rent collection + inspections bundled, plus tenant screening via partner
  • Multiple bank accounts & legal entities for investor-style ops
  • Automated tenant SMS + Schedule E & 1099 tax reports
  • We absorb card fees — tenants are never surcharged to pay by card
  • No hold queues — Elsie answers in seconds

$252 per year saved at the Solo tier alone. Stack on Elsie, and the comparison isn't close.

Beyond the price

Where we go further than TenantCloud.

The Virtual Assistant ships today, at every tier. The other two are on our near-term roadmap — TenantCloud offers none of them.

Full Virtual Assistant — at every tier

TC's “Cloudia” writes listing descriptions. That's it — and only on Pro $50. Elsie is included at every Landlord Command tier from $29: she drafts tenant messages, answers questions about your own portfolio (who's late, what's vacant, your cash flow), reads receipts and inspection photos, triages maintenance, and writes listing copy.

QuickBooks Online sync

Coming soon. Push every rent payment, vendor expense, and refund into QuickBooks Online, categorized for Schedule E. TenantCloud has no QuickBooks integration at any tier — this is on our near-term roadmap.

Public REST API + webhooks

Coming soon. REST endpoints, OAuth, and webhooks on the events you care about — plus a Zapier connector — to wire Landlord Command to your other tools. On the roadmap; TenantCloud offers none of it.

Coming soon · Elsie-assisted migration

Three steps. About ten minutes.

Here's the one-drop migration we're building — Elsie will parse your TenantCloud export and rebuild your account. Not live yet; today you can bring properties and tenants in with our bulk import.

01

Export from TenantCloud

In TC: Settings → Security → Export Data → choose “All data”. Excel file lands in your Downloads page within minutes (or by email if it's large).

02

Drop the file into Landlord Command

Sign up for a free 60-day trial. On the welcome screen, choose “Import from TenantCloud” and upload your Excel file. Elsie takes it from there.

03

Elsie does the work

She parses every property, tenant, lease, and document, asks clarifying questions for anything ambiguous, validates, and rebuilds your account in our schema. You watch — you're never locked out.

Coming soon · what Elsie will do with your file

Not a CSV importer. A teammate.

Generic CSV importers fail at the tenth row when something doesn't fit the schema. Elsie reads your TenantCloud export like a person would — asks you what she doesn't know, validates what she does, and skips nothing.

  • Maps TC column names to Landlord Command fields automatically
  • Asks clarifying questions in plain English ("This tenant has no lease end date — is it month-to-month?")
  • Validates every record before importing (no half-imports)
  • Flags duplicates and ambiguous matches for your one-click resolution
  • Generates a one-page migration report at the end

Built for landlords, with landlords.

Landlord Command is built for one user — the independent single-family landlord — and pressure-tested with a real landlord advisor who runs single-family rentals day to day.

Questions before you switch.

Will my tenants need to re-enroll in autopay?

Yes — our rent collection runs on Stripe Connect direct charges, which means each tenant's autopay is tied to your bank, not ours. The good news: you can invite every tenant to re-enroll from the tenant portal, and most are set up within 48 hours.

What data does Elsie actually transfer?

Properties (address, beds, baths, square footage, rent, status), tenants (contact info, emergency contacts, lease association), leases (start/end dates, rent, deposits, addenda), documents (PDFs, scans, notices), and transaction history. Everything in your TC export comes across.

How long does the full switch take?

Bringing your data in via bulk import takes minutes for typical portfolios (5–30 doors). Allow another 48 hours for tenant autopay re-enrollment. By Day 3 you're fully running on Landlord Command. (A one-drop, Elsie-assisted migration from your raw export is coming soon.)

Can I keep my TenantCloud account active while I test Landlord Command?

Yes. Nothing about importing your TC export changes your TC account. Run both side-by-side for the 60-day trial. Cancel TC when you're ready — not a day sooner.

What if Elsie can't parse part of my file?

Our bulk import validates every row and tells you exactly what to fix before anything is saved — no half-imports. The Elsie-assisted migration we're building will go further, asking clarifying questions in plain English.

Is there an onboarding fee?

No. The migration is part of the product, not an add-on service. DoorLoop charges variable onboarding fees that scale with portfolio size. We don't.
